It felt like we probably could have knocked it in at the end, but probably at the end of the day, a point is a fair result.” The crowd of 1,492 was electric, the weather was ideal and the vibrant sun that set just over the horizon made for perfect conditions for a home opener. At the time, I wanted to wait a week to get a larger sample size from the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers before discussing a convoluted Eastern Conference Playoff picture. However, that week turned into a month, the regular season is over and there is still no clarity on who could come out of the East. Pima College hosts NJCAA soccer tournament

Track athletes given the runaround

Story and photos by LANISSA PATTERSON While the Pima Community College track team finished competing in the NJCAA Indoor National Championship March 4 and 5, it has been two years since the Pima Community College West Campus track was closed to the general public. The track’s surface is blemished with cracks, some of which span over three lanes. There are mounds where the track does not lie flat. Walking on the track is comparable to walking on bricks. In addition, the West side of the track is torn and unusable. PCC West Athletic Director Jim Monaco is well aware of the condition of the track, calling it “very dangerous.” While the final cost of the installation is still being assessed, Monaco states the lowest estimates start at $200,000. By NATE MARTINEZPima Post The Aztecs’ Men’s Track team broke three indoor school records and Pima Women’s Basketball forward Keara Felix earned the ACCAC’s Division II player of the week. At the Mesa Indoor Invitational Feb. 13, No. 1 ranked Orian Barger finished at first place in the 600-meter race with a time of 19.54 seconds, breaking Pima’s original indoor record. No. 8 ranked Reece Gardner also broke an indoor record in the heptathlon with a total point score of 4,859. He finished first in the event and earned a national qualifier. Pima Men’s Basketball team dominates Glendale Community College

By GERARDO CASTROPima Post Pima Community College men’s basketball team (14-8) hosted Glendale Community College (13-9) Saturday in a game that wasn’t close at all besides the beginning stages of the game when the score was 2-3. Glendale never had a lead in the game and Pima made sure to take advantage of that. The Aztecs came out strong out the gates against Glendale as the score was already 12-5 with 16:38 left in the first half of the game. One major factor that was noticeable throughout the game was the Aztecs' 3-point shooting as the team shot an impressive 58.1% from beyond the arc. Pima Men’s Basketball get much-needed win

By GERARDO CASTROPima Post Pima Community College men’s basketball team (13-8) returned to its home court last night at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium where the team faced off against Phoenix College (10-9) in a close one. Both teams started off slowly. The score was a mere 2-3 for the first five minutes of the game. Freshman Traivar Jackson started to get things going for the Aztecs both on the offensive and defensive end as the team was feeding him in the post. He finished with 33 points and 8 blocks. Coach Peabody subbed in freshmen Jalen Johnson around the 12-minute mark as the team needed an offensive spark off the bench.
