The playoffs are rapidly approaching, and for now the New England Patriots lead the AFC with the Chicago Bears leading the NFC. The Patriots are 11-2 at the time this article was written, more than doubling their record from last season. Sophomore quarterback Drake Maye has been mentioned in the MVP race for his performances. The Denver Broncos lead the AFC West at 10-2, followed by the AFC South–leading Jacksonville Jaguars at 8-4. The AFC North–leading Baltimore Ravens sit at an even 6-6. The Bears stand at 9-3, tied for the league’s best record. They currently hold the No. 1 seed due to division wins and points scored. Arizona Basketball’s 2025 Recruiting and Transfer Class

By Joel Herrera Less than a month after the 2024-2025 NCAA men’s basketball season ended, the University of Arizona Wildcats have found themselves with the second best signing class nationally for the 2025 offseason. Loaded with five-star high school recruits and experienced transfers who already have ties to Tucson, head coach Tommy Lloyd has put together his best signing class since he took over the Arizona coaching position in 2021.  Looking at the high school recruiting portion of the offseason, the Wildcats signed four players, two of which were five-star recruits.  Koa Peat, a 6’7, 235 pound power forward from Gilbert, Arizona, decided to stay local for his college career, committing to Arizona back in March and signing earlier in April. Peat was named the Arizona Gator...

Jackson’s Journal: 2025 NFL Mock Draft

By Jackson Melin Cornerback Travis Hunter playing against the Colorado State Rams, photo by the Colorado Buffaloes With the NFL season wrapping up, the draft order is all but decided. The Tennessee Titans hold the coveted first overall pick. They finished 3-14, which ties them with the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns for the worst record in the league. The first selection is awarded to the worst team in the league; however, this was a three-way tie. Out of the three teams, Tennessee had the lowest “strength of schedule”, which means that they faced lower-quality opponents.  So, who are the top prospects?  The University of Miami’s Cam Ward set the school’s single season record in both passing yards and passing touchdowns, resulting in Ward winning the Davey O...

Review: Borderlands Theaters’ Antigona 3.0

By Zoe Stover PCC's very own Professor Marc Pinate took the stage in Antigona 3.0! After a semester of Pinate giving me a taste of the performing arts in THE105, I was thrilled to see him direct and act in this production. Antigona 3.0 was a bold choice. The story’s target audience is not the casual theatre viewer. An extensive background knowledge of the original Greek story and Borderlands Theaters’ spin-off is required to fully enjoy the show. The actors do mention the themes of the original tale in the very beginning, but it’s not deep enough to understand the symbolism embedded within the play. It’s disguised as a comedy bit, so the message is easily missed. If you haven’t seen Sophocles’ Antigone AND Borderlands' Antigone at the Border, this show might not be for you, w...
