By Dalton Grijalva Cobra Kai is the sequel to the Karate Kid movies set thirty years in the future featuring the original actors, as well as some fresh new faces. The show was originally released as a Youtube Red as an exclusive in 2018. Just like its main character Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), it finds new life on Netflix. Johnny has been down on his luck and also frankly a piece of hot garbage ever since he got Crane Kicked in the face by Daniel Larousso (Ralph Machio) and almost choked out by his Sensei, Kreese (Martin Kove). Pima to distribute food to students in need

By Troy Hutchison Pima Community College (PCC) has put together a Student Food Pantry Box in part of its partnership with United Way Day of Caring. The PCC is a part of this effort every November, asking its faculty and employees to volunteer their time towards different projects across all campuses. The volunteer slots to help with these projects, and the Student Food Pantry Box are all filled. However, if you have joined, you will need to go to a training course for food safety protocols to ensure the food's safety and the students receiving the food to mandate social distancing guidelines. Food Review: Tacos y Hot Dogs El Giro

By Lanissa Patterson It is not always easy to find cuisine cooked with passion and knowledge at an affordable price, but in Tucson there is Tacos y Hot Dogs El Giro. Tacos y Hot Dogs El Giro is a food truck located on the corner of Golf Links and Harrison, right in front of Walgreens. According to cashier Daisy Palacios, it originates from the local restaurant chain Taco Giro, which serves the Tucson and Sierra Vista area. The food truck is open from 7am-8pm Tuesday through Sunday, and closes early at 4pm on Monday. Working in a food truck is not easy work according to Palacios. “It’s very different from other jobs,” she said. “On special days [when we serve specific items] it is very stressful”. In the race for Pima County Assessor, Suzanne Droubie (Democrat) is running against Jo Ann Sabbagh (Republican). The responsibility of the county Assessor is to identify and list properties, as well as determine tax eligibility for exemption, according to Droubie. Assessors evaluate individuals’ real estate, as well as follow up with building permits that pass through the assessor’s office, says Sabbagh. Mens Soccer season comes to an end

By COREY MCMULLEN The Aztecs’ soccer season came to an end in November, finishing with a 15-4-2 record (12-3-1 regular season) and being ranked sixth in the nation. The Aztecs were bounced in the second round of the regional tournament by Arizona Western. The game came down to penalty kicks, where the Aztecs fell to Arizona Western 6-5. Thinking the season was over for the Aztecs, the team received one of the four at large bids for the NJCAA Division I National tournament in Tyler, Texas. The Tournament started Nov. 18 and went through Nov. 23. The Aztecs entered the tournament as the No. 9 seed. Women’s Basketball wins 3 of 5. Mens continue to underwhelm

By COREY MCMULLEN Women’s Basketball Pima Community College women’s basketball team continues to roll, winning 3 of its last 5, including a big win over Scottsdale. The Aztecs are currently ranked No. 11. Dec. 9: PCC 72, Arizona Western 67 The Aztecs defeated the Matadors (Division I) 72-67. The Aztecs trailed 30-28 at halftime but opened the third quarter on a 16-5 run in almost seven minutes to take a 44-35 lead. The Aztecs outscored the Matadors 29-11 in the quarter to take a 57-41 advantage. The Aztecs were outscored 26-15 in the final period. With Pima’s all-time scoring leader Jacqulynn Nakai gone, the Aztecs were without a point guard unless you asked head coach Todd Holthaus, who knew he had someone ready to take over. That person is Aztecs’ point guard Alyssa “AP” Perez. Perez, entering her sophomore season for the Aztecs, has been the leader the Aztecs needed for this year’s young squad, which is returning only four players from last year’s No. 5-ranked team. ‘Born to Rap’: The Game’s last album

By COREY MCMULLEN We were first introduced to Jayceon Taylor, better known by his stage name “The Game,” in 2004. Brought to us as a member from hip-hop group G-Unit, The Game dropped his debut solo album in 2005 with “The Documentary.” For the past 15 years, he’s given us hits such as “Hate It or Love It,” “Old English” and “My Life.” The Game has been consistent for the last 15 years, and for him to say “Born to Rap” is his final album feels like we’re losing one of the last artists from the non-mumble rap eras. By ELLIANA KOPUT The state of Arizona is still working to fight a disheartening shortage in public educators, one of the many issues identified in the “Red for Ed” movement. Many thoughts are unfolding in search of the means to attract new and committed teachers to the K-12 system. “I’m looking for the best and brightest to commit to teach in Arizona public schools,” Gov.
