According to We Are Social, close to 4 billion people are using multiple social media platforms for an average of 2 hours and 24 minutes per day during this pandemic.  This love of connecting with friends and strangers over the internet started in 1997 with the historic website, SixDegrees.com. The site was the first of many in which users could set up a profile page, create lists of connections and send messages within networks.
