Impact of the Game

By Jackson Melin Photo from Liz Nicholson's social media In 2002, former Pittsburgh Steeler Mike Webster was found to have signs of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). This was discovered posthumously by neuropathologist Bennet I. Omalu and published in 2005. The story has become the inspiration for the 2015 movie “Concussion”. Several players have had problems after their playing career, whether it is physical or mental. One such case being former Cleveland Brown Gerry Sullivan, who served as an offensive lineman from 1974-1981. Catalyst 2025 Conference Recap

By Jaymes Grace The Catalyst 2025 Conference welcomed the Phi Theta Kappa community for a fun, informative time. The conference included keynote speakers Steve Burns from “Blue's Clues” and Miguel Cervantes from “Hamilton”, as well as scholarships, the energy of the Hallmark Awards Gala and the excitement of who would be the newly elected International Officer Team. The conference officially began on April 3, but to allow for travel, Pima Community College  generously paid for my accommodations to include travel and stay on April 2.  Oh, had I not yet mentioned that Pima Community Col...

Things moved so quickly that people didn’t even have time to process how we got here. Apart from Trump using independent media, he successfully captured a younger voter base and maintained his original one. What else lead to this crushing defeat that we need to learn from?  The Democratic campaign was a tragedy from almost start to finish. Even with a universally poor opponent like Trump, Biden's approval ratings only fell below 45% from 2022 until he left office in 2025, having a low of 36 just before his drop out of the race. From the start it felt as if the Democrats had no motion and no drive, rel...
