On Oct. 15th, Tucson’s very own Rialto Theatre hosted the event “Twin Peaks: Conversation with the Stars,” a multi-city tour celebrating the iconic series by David Lynch and Mark Frost. The tour kicked off in August and included cities such as Boston, Denver and Seattle to name a few. As the doors opened around 5:50 p.m., the energy of the crowd was already vivid.

Fans showed a huge appreciation for the show and what it discusses. Chrestine Clawley described the show as  “…an amazing, timeless series with themes of, you know, philosophy, psychology, spirituality and the occult…” The show is still bringing new fans, like Ethan Kiggins who first watched it six months before the event.

Right when entering the venue, attendees were greeted by a specially designed event logo that was projected onto a screen above with the words “Twin Peaks: Conversation with the Stars.” This is where the stars would later converse about the experiences they had on set.

The stage was also decorated with couches and chairs with a backdrop that resembled the iconic red curtain from the black lodge scenes of the show. The evening began with a presentation of the original series finale, “Beyond Life and Death.” Following the screening of the episode, and a short intermission of 15 minutes, the panel conversation with the stars kicked off. The audience was met with the cast of the night: Ray Wise (who plays Leland Palmer), Sabrina S. Sutherland (an executive producer and production coordinator from the original run and return of the show) and lastly the two comic relief characters of the series, Kimmy Robertson as Lucy Moran and Harry Goaz as Deputy Andy Brennan.

The conversation was moderated by Josh Eisenstadt (a director and an enthusiast on all things David Lynch) who brought the panelists together to answer a few questions from the fans of the show. Actors shared stories from the original series, “The Return” and other moments from their experiences with Lynch. From stories of when they were first cast, roles they were up for and how they always had to be prepared for the unexpected on set.

Some stories were familiar to the super fans, and others were new. Sutherland shared that had Lynch not passed away, he was planning to participate in this tour via Zoom to answer questions from the fans. The evening concluded in an emotional moment for all attendees and panelists with a beautiful screening of a tribute to the late David Lynch with behind-the-scenes footage of “Twin Peaks: The Return.”
