One of President Donald Trump’s biggest supporters has been Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene. Since 2019, Greene has vocalized support for the MAGA movement and gained Trump’s endorsement.
However, the president has been in office for just a year, and one of the biggest scandals has been the Jeffrey Epstein files. Multiple photos, videos and emails of the convicted sex offender have been linked to Trump, and that might have been the final straw for her.
This is not the first issue Greene has pushed back against. Throughout his second term, she’s challenged Trump on his handling of the cost of premiums and rising grocery prices.
Trump has since called Greene a slew of names, including “Marjorie Traitor Greene” and “Wacky Marjorie.” In an interview in the White House, he stated “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie, she’s a nice woman but I don’t know what happened, she’s lost her way I think.”
Since her comments on the files, Greene has officially resigned from her seat in the House of Representatives, effective January 2026. She posted a four-page letter and 10 minute video on X stating why she is resigning.
“The People possess the real power over Washington, then I’ll be by their side to help rebuild it,” she said in it.
