Multiple Pima campuses will be hosting events that are both interesting and important. From funding your education to advancing your career, keep in mind these upcoming activities to share your opinions and partake in giveaways you’ll want to snatch up.

Family Game Night
Food and fun for everyone! Nov. 17, 3 – 5 p.m. at Northwest Campus Student Life (7600 N. Shannon Road). This event is put on by the First Year Experience Team. The description on the events page says, “Enjoy some guys and grab some food.” I’m not even kidding. Check it out here. Someone please let me know which runs out first: the guys or the pizza.

Sweater Swap
Nov. 17 – 21 is “Bring a Sweater – Take a Sweater” at the Downtown Campus Library Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eligible items must be clean and free of rips, tears and stains, including sweaters, sweatshirts, hoodies, scarves and gloves. No jackets or coats. Leftover sweaters will be donated to R.I.S.E & DC-Student Life.
What’s to Eat?
Food Truck Tuesday on West Campus is featuring The Curry Pot on Nov. 17, 11 -1 p.m. This Sri Lankan fusion food truck receives 4.5 stars on Yelp with comments like “From the first bite to the last, the food is incredible.”

Nov. 17, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. is Bardown Nutrition: Energy drinks, lemon/limeades, smoothies and protein shakes.
Nov. 18, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. is Special Eats Inclusive: Known for their comfort food.
Nov. 19, 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. Bardown Nutrition comes back! Along with:
420 Taco : A culinary masterpiece of smoked infused tacos and sandwiches at 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Nov. 20, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. is 23 Spices: Southern BBQ comfort food.

On Nov. 18 at the Scholarship Fair at the Downtown Campus (1255 N. Stone Avenue), find out about funding opportunities and speak with donors. Over 30 possibilities will be presented. You will be entered into for a chance to win $300 raffle and other prizes. Apply for scholarships in the Amethyst Room in the CC Building from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Visit here for more information.

Nov. 19 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the East Campus Library, (Room L-101), the library and Student Life Present “Cozy Movie Afternoon” with two movies: “Hunt for the Wilder People” and “Aristotle & Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe.” In addition, there will be free food, crafts, coloring and a therapy dog. Free entry, so come join the fun.

Tuesday, Nov. 18, and every Tuesday for the rest of the fall semester, you can join the Creative Writing Club from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. at the Downtown Campus Library Room LB -153 to work on your creative writing. Whether you’re a beginning writer or have been writing for a long time, you’re welcome to join to practice writing, meet fellow writers and have fun. Snacks are provided.
Nov. 19, 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.: Bible Study on the Gospel of John. You do not need to be religious or spiritual to learn more about Jesus in the Gospel of John – just bring your curiosity to the Downtown Campus, Room RV 115.

On Nov. 19, 3:30 – 5 p.m., the Downtown Campus, outside of the M Building for the Applied Tech Popcorn, is hosting “Popcorn with a Program.” Enjoy free stuff while you meet with program advisors, engagement teams and the career services team. Also, discuss potential pathways with employers.

If you didn’t find a sweater you liked at the Sweater Swap, join the “Makerspace Crafternoon” on Nov. 20 from 3 p.m.– 5 p.m. at the East Campus Library Makerspace for “Crochet Corner” where you can crochet your own sweater, or scarf, mittens, or whatever it is you’re feeling a need for now that chilly weather is approaching Tucson (Rm L116, 8181 E. Irvington Road).
“Rocky Film Screening,” the 1976 classic movie: Thursday, Nov. 20, 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., held on Pima West Campus.
On Nov. 21, join the Zoom meeting for the PTK Club and Honors “Third Friday of the Month”, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
On Nov. 21, Online, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., Scholarships 101 is hosting a great event. They stated: “Join Kyley Segers, Department Head of the Pima Honors Program, to learn the basics of finding and applying for scholarships. Meetings are held over Zoom on the third Friday of the month. Several resources for finding scholarships will be shared, along with general tips and tricks. For specific questions about your Pima scholarships, please reach out to scholarships@pima.edu.”

“Alice and the Curious Class – A Lesson in Wonder” runs Nov. 20 – 23, 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, at the Black Box Theatre at Pima West Campus Center for the Arts (2202 W. Anklam Road). Tickets: $10, $5/Students/Seniors/Military/Groups. Current Pima students may request one free ticket per event for all dance, music, and theatre performances. This ticket must be used by the student themselves. Please reserve in advance by visiting the Center for the Arts Box Office with your A number.
PCC students from all majors, backgrounds, and skill levels are welcome at the Pima Rocket Engineering Club General Body Meeting to be held Nov. 21, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Downtown Campus, Room M155. Join the discord here. “Our main goal is to develop liquid-fueled rockets and compete in national rocketry competitions,” the club stated on their socials.
