Pima Women’s Soccer to play Nationals

Pima Community College women’s soccer team will enter the NJCAA DII Women’s Soccer National Championship as the No. 4 seed, taking place Nov. 15 through Nov. 20, as the No. 4 seed.

The Aztecs are in Pool D along with No. 5 Holmes Community College from Goodman, Mississippi, and No. 9 Southwestern Illinois College from Belleville, Illinois.

Pima secured its bid to the NJCAA DII Women’s Soccer National Championship after beating Mesa Community College 2-0 in the Region I final on Oct. 15. The two goals were scored by Delaney Puntin and Alyssa Kopach, who was named the Region I, Division II Tournament MVP.

After winning the regional tournament, the Aztecs hold a record of 14-4 and have scored an average of 2.83 goals per game.

The national championship pool play games take place Nov. 15 through Nov. 17, with the semifinals being held Nov. 19 and the final on Nov. 20.
