Starting Oct. 19, you’ll be able to get your dog fix.

Pima Community College’s Northwest Campus will host five Pet a Pup events. Ruby, a mini Goldendoodle, and her handler, Jeannine, will be at the Northwest Campus Library.

If you can’t make it on Oct. 19, there will be four more days you can pet a pup: 10 a.m. Oct. 25, 10 a.m. Nov. 2 and 16 and 3 p.m. Dec. 6.

This is a good opportunity to come down and pet a dog. It’s also a great opportunity to get a therapy session for students to come to this event.

“Interacting with a friendly pet can improve physical and mental health and also show that contact with an animal lowers blood pressure, decreases cholesterol levels, reduces anxiety, boosts the immune system, decreases aggression and increases socialization and communication,” said Monique Rodriguez, librarian at Northwest Campus.

“The Northwest Campus Library used to have this program before COVID so we are happy to bring it back once again.”
