Jackson’s Journal: 2026 NFL Early Playoff Predictions

ESPN unveils “Year of the Super Bowl” ahead of 2027 broadcast.

The NFL season is just kicking off, and playoff predictions are already here. The Seahawks will play the Patriots in the season opener, as the defending champs hope to once again defeat their Super Bowl rivals.

This season will feature the premieres of rookies, such as Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza and Arizona Cardinals halfback Jeremiyah Love. These rookies will hope to make an early impact.

Many key acquisitions have happened over the offseason, including the Los Angeles Rams acquiring edge rusher Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots getting A.J. Brown from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Rams also had Aaron Donald un-retire, joining the team with a one-year, $20 million contract with an additional $10 million in incentives.

With these highlights in mind, who makes the cut this postseason and who withers under the spotlight?

AFC North: Baltimore Ravens, division champions.

AFC East: Buffalo Bills, conference champions; New England Patriots secure a spot.

AFC West: Kansas City Chiefs, division champions; Denver Broncos secure a spot.

AFC South: Jacksonville Jaguars, division champions; Houston Texans secure a spot.

NFC North: Chicago Bears, division champions; Green Bay Packers secure a spot.

NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles, division champions.

NFC West: Los Angeles Rams, conference champions; Seattle Seahawks secure a spot; San Francisco 49ers secure a spot.

NFC South: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, division champions.
